snakedrblog: Soda Can Padlock Shim Credit Card I designed these...

snakedrblog:

Soda Can Padlock Shim Credit Card

I designed these as a training aid for shimming padlocks (the cheap laminated type) but they are also ideal for keeping in your wallet, survival tin (improvised signal device) and will also fit inside a Go-Tube with room for other tools.

The die cut aluminium removes the sharp edges so they are safe to handle - just be careful when cutting out the shim.

The template is printed on clear self adhesive plastic so after cutting out the shim you can stick it to the inside of your survival, stick to a credit card, or on the outside of the Go-Tube etc. so it’s ready to be used again.

When shimming a padlock:

  • PINCH FOR STRENGTH (pinch shim tight around shackle)

  • DOWN & TURN (the padlock should pop open)
