"Getting in to a Taxi in a foreign country can be the last thing you do if you aren’t careful. Do a check on public transport in the area and try and stick to does that are part of the air port or hotel services. DON’T GET IN TO A TAXI WITH OUT TEXTING THE CAB NUMBERS AND MAYBE EVEN A PICTURE OF IT TO AT LEAST TWO SOURCES THAT CAN CHECK BACK WITH YOU. Its a good idea to designate someone back home as a security measure to receive this info in case something happens. If you have a trusted local contact even better (better to have two options). *Try and sit behind the driver with your bag next to you. If shit goes down exit carefully and use the traffic to your advantage ( test the locks on it just in case, just say you are looking for the window switch). At times I have used apps such as find my phone, and allowing others to access gps tracking apps for just the same reasons. You do need to keep the phone out of sight so it does not get taken or compromised
