Back down on the Jurassic Coast a World Heritage site testing out a few more bits of kit in between all the recent storms gave me a bit of play time with the unique one handed Firestarter from UST.
The UST Sparkie Firestarter is rapidly growing on me for its simplicity in use and its ability to be used one handed is invaluable when needing to get a fire lit fast.
When I first received this from Alex over at Alphabushcraft for reviewing I was kinda put off by the size compared with more compact knife sheath mountable Firesteel designs that I was used to and my initial thoughts concerning the one handed use was that it was just gimmicky.
Having now used it for several months I am pleasantly surprised by its usefulness as one option to get a fire going and it has definitely earned a place in my kit set up.
