Photo: @ladzinski Caption: @andrewbisharat To climbers, the Gorges du Verdon is one of the most historically and culturally significant destinations, and is often called the “Grand Canyon of Europe.” Even today, strong young climbers such as @mattsegal (belayed by @emilyaharrington) are returning to this historic area to climb such routes as this one, La Demande, which was established in 1968 and was also the Verdon’s first big rock climb. Though this route is considered “easy” by today’s standards, Matt takes a moment of pause in admiration of a route that was established way ahead of its time. @etteloc @3stringsproductions #verticalorigins by natgeo
